When a product states that it is Grease Resistant, it is much different than Grease Proof. "Grease Resistant" means something can partially resist grease penetration, while "Grease Proof" indicates a material is highly resistant to grease and can effectively prevent it from soaking through. Now with the ban of Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) materials used in food service packaging, the Grease Resistance to most items have become less and less. So in answer to the question of stopping oil? No, it will slow it down, but not stop the oils from penetrating the material.
