The manufacturer's claim on this product is that it's "recyclable only in the few communities that accept poly-lined foodservice packaging" - hence our initial inclusion of the "Recyclable" icon and note in the description.
However, we realize that those facilities are really the "exception" and not likely to be what our customers encounter in their communities - so we've altered the description and removed the "Recyclable" icon from these products.
This product is not compostable (specifically due to the "poly liner.")
We do carry a line of this brand and style of container that is fully recyclable and compostable - which uses a water based liner instead of a poly liner for leak resistance: BioPlus Terra Takeout Boxes
