After some testing, these can comfortably hold at least 4 pounds. Any moisture (if serving food products) would likely weaken the product.
You could also give us a call during business hours in order to see about getting a sample of the product for testing - or a customer service rep might be able to answer your question if we know more about what's going inside the box.
