how long do the containers and lids last if stored with food or plant based oil in them before biodegrading?

This is a very good question. The exact food type, how it's stored, at what temperature, how it was processed prior to filling and other things all can come into play for storage life. We absolutley would recommend you call to discuss your project, and we definitely would want you to TEST, for different time periods to see how long the food keeps, and that's really the best and only way to find out the answer to your specific application.
