This container is leak resistant, therefore, the lid (which is sold separately) is securely sealed on the container which allows cereals and alike products to maintain its freshness. However, there are many factors to take into consideration regarding the proximate duration of freshness but the cereal would most likely be able to maintain its freshness pretty closely if it were to be put in any store bought container!
