Essentially you can put hot foods in this container. Please keep in mind though that the bowl will be warm to the touch. The rim of the bowl is heavier, so if you need to carry the bowl, you may need to carry at the rim or use a potholder/towel to carry from the bottom. It all basically depends on your personal heat tolerance.
