These containers are meant to be single use but with care perhaps could be reusable but only if they are washed up...the plastic for this sushi to go container is made from PLA based materials so that they are biodegradable. This means if there is moisture and bacteria and heat the bio type PLA plastic will start to decompose. To wash them, use lukewarm water, add a very light detergent and then rinse and dry them thoroughly so that the PLA degradable materials will not breakdown. If you leave them sitting around or in a sink full of dirty dish water etc....they will definitely not be reusable. One last VERY IMPORTANT POINT is PLA Plastic has a low melting point of about 105 degrees Fahrenheit, and is NOT DISHWASHER SAFE
